IUCN-SSC Crocodile Specialist Group (CSG) The Crocodile Specialist Group is a worldwide network of individuals, from researchers and wildlife managers to farmers, tanners and fashion industry representatives, all working together to ensure the survival and conservation of all 23 crocodilian species in the wild. The World Conservation Union (IUCN) Founded in 1948, IUCN brings together States, government agencies and a diverse range of non-governmental organizations (980 members in 140 countries) to influence, encourage and assist societies throughout the world to conserve the integrity and diversity of nature and to ensure that any use of natural resources is equitable and ecologically sustainable. Species Survival Commission (SSC) The SSC is a knowledge network of over 7,000 members in 120 Specialist Groups and Task Forces - the largest IUCN Commission providing members with advice on the technical aspects of species conservation. Wildlife Management International (WMI) WMI is private company with over 30 years experience on the conservation and sustainable use of wildlife, particularly crocodiles. The Director, Prof Grahame Webb, is the Regional Vice Chairman of the IUCN-SSC Crocodile Specialist Group for East Asia, Australia and Oceania. Crocodylus Park Opened in 1994, Crocodylus Park, a crocodile research and education centre, is a unique public education forum on the world's crocodilians. Facilities at Crocodylus Park are used for research on crocodilians, directed at conservation, management and sustainable use. Key Centre for Tropical Wildlife Management The Key Centre is based at Charles Darwin University. In association with its partners the Key Centre aims to contribute to the implementation of comprehensive, working management systems for demonstrably sustainable wildlife use, supported by people well-versed in their application and evaluation. Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) RIRDC was established by the Commonwealth Government of Australia to work closely with Australian rural industries on the organisation and funding of their R&D needs, including new products and services with new and better ways of producing them. Northern Territory Government Janamba Crocodile Farm Janamba is the largest crocodile farm in the Northern Territory, and has been actively involved in the NT industry including hosting researchers for several years. There is no website available. Koorana Crocodile Farm Koorana is a closed-cycle breeding farm based in Queensland. They are currently breeding using F2 generation captive bred saltwater crocodiles. Hartley's Creek Crocodile Farm Hartley's Creek has been running since the 1930's, and has since expanded to include other wildlife in natural surroundings. Lagoon Crocodile Farm Based in Darwin, Lagoon Crocodile Farm houses nearly 10,000 crocodiles, the vast majority of which are sourced as eggs from the NT Crocodile Management program. National Aquarium in Baltimore The National Aquarium in Baltimore recently opened their "Australia" exhibit, featuring Australian freshwater crocodiles imported from the Northern Territory.
